Grant Shapps
|
Grant Shapps, the former chairman of the Conservative party, has resigned as a government minister, Downing Street sources have indicated, after David Cameron refused to offer his full support following Guardian revelations that he was warned about alleged bullying in the party.
Two threads about Corbyn, two about Diane Abbott, let's see how we get on with the revelation that Shapps turns out to be a nasty cunt after all.....
Before it predictably gets locked or deleted I'd like to hear After8's thoughts about Shapps' behaviour and how his party are getting on trying to lose the 'nasty party' tag?

Lucy Allan eh, isn't she the one who complained that she'd had a death threat ( which turned out to be untrue ) for voting to bomb in Syria?

The gift that keeps giving......
A new bullying row hit the Conservative Party today after one of its MPs was accused of “vicious” verbal abuse against members of her own staff.
In phone calls heard by the Standard, Lucy Allan rants at a female staffer on sick leave — describing her absence as “pathetic”, telling her she “pissed around on my life” and accusing her of having an “alcohol problem”.
The MP for Telford threatens to sack the young woman if she takes four weeks off, as advised by her doctor.

Ms Eagle was superb; verbally dexterous, confident, assured, informed, thrusting and drew the sting - enjoyable joust which she won.
More of her please.
And I dont agree with her politics.

Osborne was OK but Eagle was much more impressive than Jeremy Corbyn. She was witty when needed, she was probing when needed and she was clearly well briefed.
I'd give her an 8 out of 10 and Osborne a 6.
And I agree Osborne won't make a good PM. History shows us that Chancellors don't make good Prime Ministers. We have enough examples of those!

This bloke is splendid. If he hadn't had a silver spoon in his little gob he would be chopping up tramps and burying their bits in Epping Forest. When a journalist approached him for a comment about the bullying allegations he played the race card! "Oh, I'm sorry if I've been on holiday with my black family, but I can't help being black " or some such nonsense. Positioning himself for the role of victim. Excellent.

C&P
A 20-page dossier detailing a culture of bullying within the Conservative Party's youth wing was handed to party chairman Lord Feldman in 2010, according to a former activist.
The activist, who says he was himself a victim of bullying, told BBC Newsnight that the dossier was given by Ben Howlett, now an MP, to Lord Feldman.
Lord Feldman insists he was not aware of any complaints before August 2015.
Two activists involved in producing the document say it named Mark Clarke.
Mr Clarke is the volunteer organiser at the heart of the bullying scandal which has bedevilled the party since September.
He has been accused of bullying, sexually harassing and planning to blackmail other activists.

However he managed that it was definitely not down to a massive pyramid selling scheme (apparently). Philip Green and Sebastian Fox might have helped though.

It's amusing that you try to deflect attention from your own, obvious but denied, party political fandom, by accusing others of it.
If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck...

Yes RM10 - they are like people who have bought home and away season tickets to watch West Ham matches and claim not to support them on the basis that they 'once went over the Orient'.
It's just about possible, but a normal person would reasonably tend to think they were lying.

Not strictly true, After8.
I have voted for Labour. I don't support them.
I'm sure you can see the difference if you really try, After8.
